Objectives of the draft program: Сreation of a biobank of biotechnologically significant industrial microorganisms for biosafety and the study of promising strains for the development of biological preparations in the field of biotechnology, ecology, agriculture.
Objectives of the draft program
- Creation of a biobank of industrial microorganisms by maintaining a database and standardized operating procedures;
- Assessment of biological risks of procedures for maintaining and biosafety of a biobank in accordance with the regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Monitoring of specialized collections of industrial microorganisms on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and integration into the database to ensure biological safety;
- Implementation of effective cybersecurity measures for electronic databases of industrially valuable microorganisms;
- Evaluation of the intellectual potential of industrially valuable microorganisms and the development of highly effective biological products that are promising for commercial business structures;
- Creation and replenishment of a biobank with industrial strains of microorganisms with antimicrobial properties and producers for biodiversity conservation.
Expected results of the program:
- A biobank of industrial microorganisms will be established by maintaining a database and standardized operating procedures;
- An assessment of the biological risks of the procedures for maintaining and biosafety of the biobank will be carried out in accordance with the regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Monitoring of profile collections of industrial microorganisms on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and integration into the database to ensure biological safety will be carried out;
- Effective cybersecurity measures for electronic databases of industrially valuable microorganisms will be introduced;
- The intellectual potential of industrially valuable microorganisms will be assessed and the development of highly effective biological products promising for commercial business structures will be started;
- At least 5 (five) articles and (or) reviews will be published in peer-reviewed scientific publications in the scientific direction of the program, included in the 1st (first), 2nd (second) and (or) 3rd (third) quartiles according to the impact factor in the database Web of Science and (or) having a CiteScore percentile in the Scopus database of at least 50 (fifty). Estimated journals for the publication of scientific results:
- At least 5 (five) articles will be published in journals recommended by CQAES.
- At least two monographs will be published in Kazakhstani and / or foreign publishing houses.
- At least 5 Kazakh patent applications and 1 Eurasian patent application will be filed to protect intellectual property.
- Scientific and technical documentation will be developed: a protocol for assessing the biological risks of the procedures performed for strains of industrial microorganisms, regulations on the RCM Biosafety Commission, regulations for the production of effective biological products on an industrial scale, standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- The RCM collection fund will be replenished with at least 100 new highly active strains of microorganisms that are promising for agriculture, biotechnology, and ecology, including extremophilic microorganisms that can develop at high temperatures and high salinity concentrations.
